Amon Automation has successfully concluded the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for the comprehensive control system of a massive 225,000 KTA Liquid Calcium Chloride expansion plant.
The core production process involves a continuous, controlled reaction between calcium carbonate (limestone) and hydrochloric acid (HCl). The newly tested control architecture automates the entire facility, coordinating operations across the HCl feed sections, multi-line limestone dissolvers, complex neutralization reactors, and CO2 scrubbing systems.
FAT Highlights & Control Philosophy
The rigorous testing phase verified the complex automation logic designed to ensure safe, continuous, and highly efficient plant operations under all conditions.
- Verification of safety interlocks for limestone handling, including automated zero-speed and belt sway trip conditions.
- Validation of automated pH control and lime dosing logic across multiple redundant neutralization reactors.
- Testing of Profinet communication protocols and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) pump integrations.
- Simulation of critical tank level alarms and the automatic closure of HCl feed valves to prevent system overflows.
With the FAT officially approved, the automation system is now ready for site deployment, ensuring safe and highly optimized calcium chloride production.
