The North Safa offshore platform, located in the Gulf of Suez, is a strategically vital extraction asset for GUPCO and Dragon Oil, operating at a production capacity of 17,500 barrels per day. Overseen by ENPPI as the lead engineering consultant, this fast-track project demanded the deployment of a unified Process Control System (PCS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD) system, and centralized SCADA network.
Operating in highly volatile offshore environments leaves absolute zero margin for error. Our leadership team was tasked with designing an automation architecture to securely control six high-pressure production wells, three water injection wells, and the master Multi-Wellhead Control Panel (WHCP).
SIL Expertise & Flawless Execution
The core engineering of this project heavily emphasized Safety Integrity Level (SIL) compliance. We engineered a fully redundant, deterministic automation architecture utilizing the massive processing power of Siemens AS 410-5H controllers paired with highly available ET 200SP HA I/O modules. By utilizing Siemens F-Systems and Continuous Function Chart (CFC) programming, we established a bulletproof Cause & Effect safety matrix.

- High-Availability Redundancy: Guaranteed continuous extraction uptime by eliminating all single points of failure across the ~800 critical I/O loops.
